The lodge sits on the bluff. Everything else is a short walk into the trees.

1
Living World depth: one photograph, five live layers — base plate, far canopy, near canopy, sun/shadow, mist. All aligned copies of the same embedded image.
2
Tree motion: nested sway wrappers (47s / 21s / 13s) compose an irregular breeze; an SVG turbulence displacement adds leaf shimmer. No whole-image Ken Burns.
3
Sunlight follows the trees: dapple and shadow patches share the near-canopy rhythm with a ~1.6s lag — the light moves because the leaves did.
4
Progressive disclosure: at rest, Today is a greeting, a day, one sentence — and at most one moment object. Everything else waits below the floor or inside the orb.
5
Detail Floor: one reusable surface with three resting heights (preview / medium / full). Drag it, tap it, or press Escape. The world stays visible behind it.
6
Resting dock: icons-only, smaller, quieter. Touch it and labels breathe back in; after six idle seconds it settles again.
7
Concierge: three contextual questions at a time, chosen from the day, the mode, and the weather. Secondary information lives here now, not on Today.
8
Self-contained: every photograph is embedded as an optimized data URI, defined once and reused by CSS. The file works from an email attachment, offline.
